Lawrenceburg, Tennessee is a thriving city located in the Tennessee Valley, surrounded by lush forests, state parks, and wildlife areas. Situated at the junction of U.S. Routes 43 and 64, approximately 80 miles southwest of Nashville, this city is named after Captain James Lawrence, a prominent figure in the War of 1812. Lawrenceburg is renowned as the birthplace of Southern Gospel music and was once home to James Vaughan, considered the father of Southern Gospel. It also holds the historical significance of being the residence of David Crockett, a prominent U.S. Congressman and hero of the Battle of the Alamo. The downtown area boasts a striking statue of David Crockett, an array of shops, restaurants, and a captivating public square.
